Your suffering is worth it..
It is a strange sign of how much the political sands have shifted that the government is now telling firms where to do business. Those that find trading with the EU is getting more difficult or even impossible are being told to look elsewhere.
Remember this is a Conservative government, the ones who want to get off the back of business and let them do what they do best, make money and grow, grow, grow. But the thing about Brexit is that the brexiteers seem to think, despite the evidence, that leaving the EU is good for the economy. If it is not directly of immediate benefit that is because firms will have to get used to the new world, where the government knows better than they do where future growth will be, which markets they should be selling in and that the EU is an economic backwater, doomed to decline.
This is an idealogical position not an economic one, thus the procession from; it will make you richer, all the way to, it will make you a lot poorer but any price is worth paying to be free.
The last bit is the most important, any price is worth paying and if business has to pay that price so be it. The opposition parties should now be besieging the CBI and all the rest of them asking what they want and promising to deliver it in immediately. I wonder if they are, because they would be knocking on an open door?
