Words matter
Let’s be clear the racist thugs who tried to murder asylum seekers and attacked the police are not fascists.
They would not recognise Benito Mussolini if you showed them a picture of him hanging upside down from a petrol station. They do not have the letters BM or pictures of a bundle of logs tattooed on their arms. The do not obsess about making the trains run on time or really want to invade Ethiopia. They do not belong to Combat 213.
Don’t get me wrong the fascists were and are a very nasty bunch of people, oppressive, dictatorial, aggressive, and bigoted but they did not organise the Holocaust, they did not whip up hatred of jews, slavs, Roma and many others, they did not slaughter millions of civilians and prisoners, shoot communists on sight or murder their own mentally ill.
The people who did that were Nazis, you can spot them quite easily because they have tattoos of swastikas, they hate foreigners, are murderous thugs and racist inspired killers. They love Adolf Hitler and all his works.
There you are, sorted. Please try to get it right, words matter.
