Is it just me? Or does everyone know that good luck is guaranteed for the rest of the month if the first thing you say on the 1st is “White rabbits”?
Well, if he knows about this one Rishi Sunak will have been chanting “White rabbits” all morning, but little good it is likely to do him. The local elections are tomorrow and he is going to lose big time. I wonder which result the Tory party will cling to, to explain why things are not as bad as they first appear but doubtless they will find something.
But for the opposition parties these elections are important for other reasons, hammering the Tories and maintaining momentum is important, but this is also the largest opinion poll they are ever going to get.
What I would really be looking at is the turnout and whether the shameless voter suppression measures this government has introduced are having an effect and how much tactical voting there is.
All will have a huge influence on the general election whenever it comes, but the data from this week’s vote will be vital. It could and should lead to a a massive campaign to get the young to vote, and it should lead to a lot of tactical voting.
The Tories are almost certainly going to lose the general election but those two factors could turn that defeat into a rout.
I’m sorry Rushi, but I think “White rabbits” might not be enough.

I always say it and I must say the results are variable- however your post was a welcome reminder and came after the words had passed my lips
“If you go chasing rabbits and you know you’re gonna fall … “
