What might have been.
The start of the year has been celebrated rather differently in Copenhagen and Dublin, than in London.
That’s because 2023 marks 50 years since the two countries, with the UK, joined what would become the EU.
In that time Ireland has gone from being an agricultural backwater tied to the UK economically, to one of the richest countries in Europe, far richer than the UK.
Denmark is another extremely wealthy country seamlessly tied to Scandinavia and Europe.
The UK thanks to the idiot David Cameron, who put party before country, is once more the sick man of Europe, Britain no mates, a laughing stock and a saddo.
Sat in the corner mumbling to itself about how it is right and everyone else is wrong, there is no prospect of it changing course anytime soon.
Which means things will get far worse before they get better.
.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
