Although it is always fun to watch the Tory party implode, mass migration is an important issue and deserves far better than this from a leading European nation.
For a start we had the farce yesterday of Suella Braverman saying that the UK should or could not withdraw from the ECHR or its international treaty obligations but could just “ignore” certain parts of them. Showing not just an amazing lack of legal knowledge but frankly a complete detachment from reality.
Now I am sure she is not that stupid but she is playing with fire by even suggesting that as a possible solution. She is pandering to the far right in her own party and beyond in the same way that led to Nazis storming the Cenotaph.
Then we had the marvellous sight of the Rwandan government no less insisting that the UK had to abide by international law or else the scheme would never get off the ground.
Such is the in fighting in the Tory party that this was immediately seen as something James Cleverly had organised during his recent trip to Kigali, to put pressure on his own party to stick with the ECHR and other obligations.
Even if that is the case the government has now been warned off breaking the law by Rwanda, I think it is safe to say this is a first.
And remember the Tory party is doing all this to force 100 asylum seekers to Rwanda as a deterrent to tens of thousands of asylum seekers, who are willing to risk crossing the Channel in small boats.
This makes the war between those who crack eggs open at the fat end and the thin end seem like a principled moral crusade and remember this is a fight to the death inside the Tory party.
A fight between those who think they can destroy just a part of the UK’s international law and human rights obligations and those who want to destroy it all, for a policy that can never work but is popular with the closet racists and swivel eyed loons.
What a hill to die on.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

I literally burst out laughing at that line while walking through Heathrow. Brilliant. I’d like to say that this Tory farce has hit the low point yet I’m confident they have only scratched the surface.
