The Daily Telegraph has one of those articles this morning about “Why, of why, are train drivers paid so much?”
Next week it will be nurses or ambulance drivers, or prison officers, you name it; if they are in the public sector the lazy, left leaning, woke, and work shy are massively overpaid. Not only that but the bastards have pensions too, do you?
Well,no, probably not. What with 40 years of Thatcherism reducing workers rights, pay, conditions, and pensions.
Yet, we see that the water company bosses are still getting massive bonuses, why?
Several companies claim to be going bust, but are still throwing huge bonuses at very well paid executives. But they are at the top of the private sector and therefore they are “worth it”.
This is the inevitable result of that Thatcherite dream of making ambition pay, the ordinary workers need to be kept down and the wealthy need more money, always.
But strangely enough, if you want more workers in key industries and key sectors; you have to pay more. People used to stay and be loyal because they were reasonably well looked after, but that ended years ago.
Terms and conditions matter and not just for the top 1%, something the top 1% have obviously forgotten.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

The Daily Wail and the torygraph are seriously dangerous and deeply disturbing and unpleasant. The constant dripping of poison against large swathes of people has a seriously undermining and demeaning impact. I’m hugely impressed that Jonty reads this shit so we don’t have to, but I do wish they were ignored, left unbought and unread.
Free market economics - the rich
must be incentivised, everyone else, the dependents, must be disciplined. Free market economics is a code for allowing private power to rule the economy with as little restraint as possible.
