I know you only did it once here but it has an insidious effect with Johnson, contributing to his public persona as a harmless, jolly chap, potentially your `pal`, and is in danger of doing the same with Farage.
The answer to that question, is whether the next Labour government can communicate with the public with sufficient honesty. They have a mountain to climb and imo have done the right thing in lowering expectations.
The far right will try to stoke disillusion so it can ride a backlash. Labour must have some faith in the maturity of the voters. TINA.

Truly amazing that in these strange times one can almost look back on Heseltine with a degree of fondness for an era of “one nationism”
The saving grace is that Farage and Sunak are equally poor debaters. The problem is that a large minority of the electorate aren’t listening closely.
