Brexit is an economic and political failure but its supporters don’t care. They have invested too much in their cult to ever change tack and therefore the only way is forward.
That means we will never hear the end of “Brexit has been betrayed”, or “not tried properly” or “needs time to work”. The Brexit supporters who complain that remainers “need to get over it and move on” never did when the UK was in the EU and can never get over it now.
Why? Because Brexit is a continual revolution, because it always needs new enemies to explain why life is not yet perfect, as promised.
Shipping asylum seekers to Africa is the just the start, there are plenty of other ways of stoking their base support.
Article 16 is the obvious one, stir up the hornets nest of Northern Ireland and you will have something to distract attention for years to come.
If it leads to tariffs on UK exports all the better, they can blame the EU for ever on that one.

Then you can destroy the bodies established to tell government the truth, the OBR, the ONS, the think tanks, all of who are lying and distorting figures to make Brexit look bad.
The Civil Service— “lets recruit from true Brexit supporters, it is the mandarins who have betrayed us.”
The universities, “why do we pay lefty lecturers to turn graduates against us?”
The schools must “teach patriotism”
Immigrants from the Commonwealth, lots of Brexit voters thought it meant repatriating black and asian immigrants- give them what they want.
They also like hanging people, so a couple of years fighting to return the death penalty will keep any political debate firmly on the Brexiteers home turf. Killing innocent people is a small price to pay if it keeps you in government. Let’s portray our opponents as the friends of paedophiles, terrorists and serial killers.
And on and on. They have only just started, because they can never stop.
