There is no such thing as coincidence
Strange that the right wing commentariat are all singing from the same song sheet. We cannot, it seems, continue to bail out the British population.
We have become far too used to being bailed out, over the credit crunch, over covid and now over energy prices. This has created a nation of crack addicts who think it is the government’s job to bail them out, again and again.
There seems to be no evidence of this at all, but it s useful rallying call for the right, “the scroungers are after your money.”
It ties in nicely with the government’s adoption of the Bank of England as the reason to slash nurses and teachers pay. Strange that the Bank of England is both to blame for high inflation and also the perfect excuse to be bastards to the public sector. But there you go.
15 years of below inflation pay rises and it is the public sector that is to blame and must suffer.
This government is determined to go down fighting, that means bringing down the civil service, the schools, the NHS and every other government department around its ears.
After all none of them will be around to clear up the mess, the right wing media will blame Labour from day one, there will be no money to fix things, growth will take years and vast amounts of money to get going again, teachers and nurses will vote with their feet.
The next government will inherit ashes.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
