The UK was so desperate for a trade deal with Australia that its trade negotiators seem to have got everything that they wanted, the Aussies are laughing all the way to the bank. The benefits to the UK economy of this ground breaking, not available to the EU, deal is apparently 0.02% over 15 years, another 250 deals like this and the government will have made up for the damage Brexit will cause, except it won’t.
For a start there aren’t another 250 Australias out there, and more importantly the 5-6% of economic damage caused by Brexit, is worked out by adding up all the costs of leaving, then subtracting all the benefits of less regulation and new trade deals. This 0.02% is therefore already in the calculation.
We are going to have to put up with an awful lot of this rubbish in coming years, but unlike some the maths doesn’t lie. There are not enough countries in the world which the UK doesn’t already have trade deals with to make up for the damage caused by leaving the Single Market.

Well Mr remainer Scarecrow why are you off to see the wizard? Well at least the British lion had the courage to go get a deal albeit 0.2%. And we now have a tin heart for the tin man.
You can pitch the maths as much as you like but we as a nation got our soul back for that 5 - 6% from the Wicked witch of EU. Not a bad price all in. Yes we could have left our soul with the EU but we decided not to, get over it!
