But the cost of £10 billion is completely unaffordable. The Chancellor’s sick joke that if councils don’t want to go bust they should spend less on advisors and diversity is nothing more than that, a sick cynical joke. He has ripped billions out of their budgets and he knows it.
It also means he really knows the house is falling down around his ears but he is still willing to try to bribe voters with their own money, rather than try to spend it where it is desperately needed.
This is either totally immoral spending on tax cuts or salting the earth for Labour.
There is no third way.
