“The road to serfdom” sounds like one of those books by right wing libertarian economists in the 1960s that were seized on by conservatives everywhere as evidence that the welfare state had to die, privatisation was essential, the trade unions needed to be destroyed and monetarism made sense. By the way anyone know what M3 is this month? No, thought not.
But in fact it is the warning by Boris Johnson about how this new government will actually try to get on with the EU and our largest trading partners. Writing in the Sunday Mail he and Lord Frost, the two idiots who actually negotiated the current deal, are warning that any improvements will be Brexit betrayal and make us no more than the serfs of Brussels and destroy or national independence.
If I had had any hand in the pathetic, damaging and incompetent deal the UK was landed with I would keep my head down, but when what is left of your reputation is at stake, the only thing to do is to scream betrayal.
Let me be clear the only traitors are the idiots who pushed Brexit for years and had no idea how to make it work, principally because their fantasy was based on ignorance, wilfully ignoring facts, deliberately distorted data, lies and bigotry. It was never possible to get a good deal once they insisted that we had to break any and all ties with the EU, which was not what we were told would happen during the referendum.
Thank god they didn’t go for a no deal, although they seem to have thought that would be bad for the country but good for the Tory party and that was why they considered it. Shamelessly trying to put party ahead of country.
Funnily enough two people who didn’t push for Brexit were Boris Johnson and Lord Frost. They only joined when they saw which way the wind was blowing. But like every one else Brexit destroyed their careers and their reputation, they have nothing left but to scream blue murder.
Luckily Labour has a very large majority and the Tory party is continuing its civil war. Maybe just maybe they can get some improvements and ignore the rantings from the sidelines.
It would be the road to common sense.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

Getting shot of the reptilian, greedy, self-serving, gammon-led bunch of no-marks jokingly referred to as the previous government is at least one large step on the road to common sense and being grown up. Fuck bojo and frosty, at least the poisonous Mail no longer determines our foreign policy
