The rich are different
It appears that a former Chancellor, no less, has agreed to pay HMRC £3 million in back tax. A former PM is living in a millionaire’s home at mate’s rates and it turns out was borrowing vast amounts of money while in No.10 to maintain his lifestyle.
He is now earning millions on the lecture circuit and from donations of the ultra wealthy to put “hay in the loft” for his campaign to get back into power.
The current PM’s wife was a non dom, happily keeping the tax man’s fingers off any of her £700 million inheritance.
And these are all just from the top of my head.
Twenty years ago any one of these stories would have destroyed careers, if not governments.
Now it is envy and jealousy to expect even the people who run this country to pay taxes or commit to the UK or even to live within their means.
The rich own the Tory party and therefore the country.
That is why the NHS is near to collapse and nurses, train drivers and ambulance crew cannot have a pay rise.
Not because “there is no money” but because the rich are different from us, they don’t pay taxes.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
