Following on from yesterday and the warning that the Nazis are back comes the news that a Reform candidate thinks the UK would have been better off staying out of WWII.
Apparently it wasn’t our finest hour, but a strategic mistake, we should have trusted Hitler, taken his word as his bond and let him enslave and murder every one else. Because it was “nothing to do with us”.
Besides the depressing fact that anyone these days is so stupid as to think that Hitler was trustworthy, the “It was not our fight” argument is disgusting. The reaction of Reform itself speaks volumes.
Apparently the party believes that "His historical perspective of what the UK could have done in the 30s was shared by the vast majority of the British establishment including the BBC of its day, and is probably true.”
So there you go, the knuckle draggers are back and standing for election. They no longer try to hide behind the Union Jack, these are the people who plan to takeover the Tory party and who a significant number of Tory supporters want to succeed.
Now is the time to learn from history and not like the Reform party does. The Nazis conned the German right that they were just like them, won one election and took the world to hell and back.
You would really think that didn’t need repeating, and that the lesson had been learnt, apparently not. The Tory party is so entitled, arrogant and stupid that it is not just willing but keen to have the cuckoo in their nest.
They can no longer say that they don’t know what flirting with Farage will mean. If they are still willing to go ahead then they are no better than he is.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

Well said, and trenchantly put. The fact that Braverman wants to welcome Farage into the party tells you everything you need to know about her and about her supporters. Very alarming, very scary.
