The cost of the Tories

I must say that it is utterly shameless and hypocritical of the Tory party leadership to denounce the deal on the Chagos Islands, when they negotiated most of the deal themselves. But what do you expect from a group of second rate chancers who seem to think that they will be back in power shortly?

They learnt their lessons at Boris Johnson’s knee very well, shameless lying works, most of the time. Which make me assume they will leap on the former PM’s call for a referendum on membership of the ECHR.

After all they have already been lying about what it is and what it means, whipping themselves up into a right state and looking exactly like the Brexiteers did for years. Blaming anything and everything on some imagined threat to the country, lying because their cause was pure and the ends justified the means and trying to get into power on the back of an act of deliberate and knowing national self harm.

This time there is not even a David Cameron to try to stop them, the swivel eyed loons have taken over the asylum. So we will now have endless stories of immigrant’s crimes going unpunished, terrorists free to murder and things we cannot do because we are not free and so on, for ever.

But just to put this in context both the Good Friday Agreement and the TCA are predicated on the UK staying in the ECHR and abiding by the decisions of the court, only Russia and Belarus don’t do this.

Leaving would result in a total break down of trust and relationships with the EU. It does not do deals with anyone nasty or stupid enough to leave the ECHR.

Some of the Brexit loons will see this as a further reason to leave the ECHR, because it burns even more bridges and makes our relationship with Brussels even worse.

This is what happens when you let the Tories hold referendums. We really cannot afford another one.
