The cliff edge is here....
So the figures are in the maths has been done and the details analysed.
The British government, in the worst cost of living crisis in decades, has introduced a budget which only makes people earning more than £155,000 better off, everyone else is worse off.
While its right wing fans preen themselves just let that sink in. The UK government plans to reboot the economy by making 99% of the population worse off.
You don’t need trickle down economics to make that work, you need the Niagara Falls.
Meanwhile the help for energy costs is based on borrowed money, which the poor will have to repay (the rich getting tax cuts remember) and energy bills will still double. Meanwhile the Bank of England will slam on the brakes with higher interest rates.
When this fails who will they blame? The Bank of England, the poor for not working hard enough, the Treasury for orthodoxy?
I have no idea but it will doubtless be betrayed somehow.
As I said yesterday I doubted whether the markets had fully priced in the complete lunacy of the Tory party now it has been taken over by the swivel eyed loons— but they have now started.
The trouble is that will only make things worse, for millions this is the cliff edge and the government has pushed them over.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
