The blob and kulaks
The USSR was held back by the kulaks, slightly wealthier peasants who were obviously the ones stopping collectivisation and the communist revolution working and so had to be destroyed.
Brexit has no enemies so clear and obvious to explain why it is not working, so it has invented its own enemy, the Blob.
Not the alien predator from a 1950’s sci fi classic, just a lumpen mass of secret socialists in the Civil Service (as if), , woke commentariat, remain traitors, lawyers, judges, ‘ealth and safety nuts and the politically correct.
This blob is the one and only thing stopping the UK from benefitting from Brexit, based on the following logic.
The EU was evil, incompetent and an economic basket case.
The UK has left and therefore must boom as a result.
This hasn’t happened so there must be treason somewhere.
Where exactly is unclear but it must be massive, ubiquitous and yet invisible, hence the blob and the blob has to go.
So, no more demonstrations, judges who do what they are told, voter suppression to make sure the “right” people win, purging and politicising the civil service, tax cuts for the elite, fewer and fewer protections for the rest, telling universities what to teach, persuading the white middle classes they are the victims and wrapping yourself in the flag.
The explanation, that the UK’s relative decline can easily be explained by the fact that Brexit is based on a fantasy, does not seem to occur to our new masters.
The UK is heading for a long period of slow, inadequate growth, an ageing population, immense pressure on the NHS and the tax system, increasing pressure on the poor and the young.
But the solution is not to address these problems directly, because they will solve themselves once the blob is killed.
If problems persist, more of the blob will have to go.
It is the obvious answer to the nation’s ills.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
