Tax cuts for the poorest.
The Queen’s speech will apparently light a bonfire of red tape, made possible by Brexit. What these onerous rules are and how their destruction will make a difference to economic growth is impossible to say. Not least for the Office of Budget Responsibility which has already said many times there is no economic benefit from these measures worth counting.
This will make no difference to anyone’s prospects.
Then the PM is promising to create well paid, highly skilled jobs across the country.
How? No, me neither.
Hearing Tory MPs struggling to come to terms with a coming recession and the present cost of living crisis is painful.
No empathy, no ideas, or stupid ideas. Tax cuts do not help the poorest; the poorest don’t pay tax.
Idealogical obsessions and boosterism have led to this and I can see no way that the current government can change.
The real message is “you are on your own.”
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
