Stop digging
I am not sure why they are called civil wars as they are always very uncivil, but it is long past the time when the Tory party needs to hold its civil war in opposition.
The country cannot afford the delays, contradictions, incompetence and endless back stabbing that now make this government incapable of running a whelk stall. Back benchers revolt at every opportunity, ministers bid for the leadership in speeches, reforms are impossible compromise treason, law breaking encouraged, freedoms smashed, sensible economics the victim of idealogical fantasies and far right funded think tanks that try to dominate any debate.
Boris Johnson has released some of his WhatsApp messages because he thinks it will damage the PM, 200,000 plus dead and he is playing petty internal party games with the inquiry.
In opposition the Tory party could tear itself apart without tearing the country apart. UKIP have taken it over, maybe the old guard can launch a counter-offensive but I doubt it. In fact I don’t care.
This country is in one hell of a hole and the first thing to do is to stop the Tory party digging.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
