No, please don’t thank me, it was a pleasure and really interesting. I watched the whole of Sir Kier Starmer’s press conference in Brussels and there was most certainly something fishy about it all.
There were three sets of questions from the assembled press, about:
A.Kier Starmer’s repayment of gifts
B. How the talks went and
C. What decision has been made on fishing quotas in British waters?
The third one is interesting because as Sir kier made clear these were the most general, wide ranging, introductory chats and nothing specific at all was discussed, let alone fishing.
So why all the questions about 0.003% of the British economy. Could perhaps the press corp have all been briefed by Reform or the Tories that Labour will sell out our fishing industry and betray the country? It looks very much like that to me.
Which makes me angry, because the press corps should be able to make their own mind up about the important issues, I always did. They should also have known that specifics like this weren’t going to be discussed and that the people who sold out our fishing industry were the Tories and Reform, so taking advice from them was a really dumb thing to do.
Yet three journalists asked about this very subject, how strange. It just goes to show how any resetting of our relationship with the EU will be spun and attacked by the very people who cocked all this up, as treason and betrayal.
And how even the mainstream media will fall for that line of argument, because it is lazy, easy, makes good headlines and most importantly they don’t know enough to know better.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

Some of our media seems to be following the sorry state of some US journalism where all of Trump’s crazy lies are merely reported and not checked or commented on. Of course the Daily Wail always has its own agenda anyway
That's well sniffed out and is exactly as fishy as you say.
