Show us the money
Wales is complaining that it has lost hundreds of millions of pounds in EU funds this year. The money which it and many other parts of the UK got because they were and still are among the poorest regions of Europe, has not been replaced.
With 6 years warning the Treasury has failed to replace all the funds, leaving Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Cornwall, among many others far worse off.
This is strange because the Government has all that money from the side of the bus to spend, it certainly hasn’t gone to the NHS so it must be available. Or has the Treasury discovered that what with continued payments to the EU, higher spending on red tape, lower growth and therefore tax revenues because of Brexit, it needs to make some savings? Certainly replacing those funds would cost it a lot and this is the ideal opportunity to quietly cut back on spending.
Levelling down I think it is called.
