Shameless
Apprentices are leaving their jobs because the training is so bad or even none existent and yet nothing is done.
The so called reforms of 2016 led to a disastrous collapse in apprenticeship numbers, now even those who get one are dropping out or not finishing their courses.
Firms bleat about untrained staff and the failure of the education system all the time, but their own performance is a national scandal.
Meanwhile the government sits on the side line and does nothing. This is an open goal, better training using the existing money should be a no brainer. It leads to better jobs, better growth and more taxes.
This is a shameless betrayal of the country's youth, its economy and future. But don't worry Eton will keep its charitable status, as taxing the most expensive private school in the world would be an attack on "ambition."
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
