Saturday musings....
OK it is Saturday so I will keep this short, but yesterday I heard Sir Bernard Jenkin on the Today programme saying that the shake up at No.10 was the chance to get some real Brexit supporting ministers in the Cabinet (there’s no pleasing some people).
Now I have thought since the referendum that we would leave with no deal because. the result was such a dramatic shift in the political landscape that the hardline Brexiteers would and could demand the impossible, control the debate and were happy with the idea of a total break anyway. But does Cummings ousting mean the government will make concessions to get a deal or decide a no deal is better?
On the face of it the former but Mr Jenkin and the rest of the ERG won’t take that lying down, and so far they have won every round in this fight.
