Quietly in the background
As the pathetic and dangerous farce of a government that cannot retreat from its idealogical position despite the almost unmeasurable levels of damage it is imposing on millions of its own people continues, other things are happening.
The UK’s trade with the EU is down again, this is just another sign of what is going wrong. Trade is good, very good for an economy; a deliberate government policy to make it more difficult is madness.
But that is only one of the many forms of madness this government is engaged in.
Unfunded tax cuts, endless increases in borrowing, the removal of respected experts and the isolation of people who speak truth to power.
Now apparently the government will try to fill the gap in its finances by cutting foreign aid.
Global Britain?
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
