Paranoia and politics
The paranoia on display these days by the Brexit Brigade is a thing of beauty. Surely they must all sit in a bar somewhere trying to out do each other with their conspiracy theories and mad cap ideas.
Did you know that:
The Bank of England deliberately undermined the Truss mini budget by not raising interest rates high enough? Cunning.
The bank is also delaying changes to insurance rules to stop a boost in investment, deliberately sabotaging growth. Bastards
The cuts to taxes in the mini budget were reversed because they would have been lower than France’s? Therefore preventing post Brexit UK becoming a more attractive place to do business. Devilish.
That the Chancellor is deliberately doing down the economy to make joining the Single Market more attractive? The only sensible answer, natch.
There is a plan to flood the country with immigrants. Sure.
The World Bank and IMF are in on the conspiracy. Of course.
The NIP can be abandoned with no cost. It’s just common sense.
All of these ideas and many, many more are off the wall mad, and can be disproven by one simple fact.
Brexit campaigners were told the damage they would inflict on the UK, it has happened just as predicted.
But, to be fair, the paranoid ones are slightly more easy to understand than the ones who say, it was worth it because now we are free. Or the PM, who tells the CBI it is all going swimmingly, and the benefits are huge.
Our bosses are mad.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
