Oh, Mr. Pret a porter
Apparently the blistering wave of strike action that has brought the nation to its knees, and is being used by the government as justification for draconian new anti Trade Union legislation is not quite what we thought.
In one of the ONS’s occasional papers, the statisticians have found that very few people were affected, most worked from home, some took the bus instead but that some Pret a porter outlets, in some mainline stations saw lower sales, on some rail strike days.
The general strike it ain’t.
There is even a chart showing days lost to strikes over the decades, you’d be hard pushed to see this years as anything but a faint shadow of previous strikes.
But we all knew this really, this government would portray the Brownies as a fifth column, if it meant holding onto power.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
