I have written here before about how Brexiteers will never admit that anything bad that occurs as a result of leaving the EU is their fault. To be fair they can’t admit it because their whole philosophy is built on it being a good thing. The same mind set explains why organisations deny, hide and cover up abuses of power, the cause is so good and important that these minor issues can not be allowed to sully it and undermine faith in it.
The latest contortion along these lines that you will hear a lot more of in coming days and weeks, is that Brexiteers voted to leave the single market but not for barriers to trade. This the natural result of cakeism, and it was nurtured and feed by the lie that the UK could leave the EU and enjoy even better access than members of the single market.
Denying having anything to do with barriers to trade is a difficult position to hold when you were told before during and after the referendum this would happen but rubbished it and lied about it, but it is not impossible. Remember Brexit can only do good, therefore anything bad is not the fault of Brexit or those who voted for it. That would be to sully the victory and can not be allowed.

Nothing to do with me mate
So as a Brexiteer it is nothing to do with me mate? OK if that is how you want to see it. But I don't have a problem I'm quite happy to step up and sort the snagging issues were I allowed!
I don't see 150,000 lorries per annum going to Ireland by ferry from the EU is bad for the UK?
The single market was an EU red line, you are not having it. What don't you journalists understand about the word "No" to the single market. The EU were always going to take revenge, as a Brexiteer I'm delighted they are behaving badly as it shows what I have thought all along. The French throwing their toys out the pram at every opportunity, just makes me say "I told you so!" Is that right a former French president is off to a French jail for 3 years? Oh dear.
As for organisations covering up abuses of power recent allegations from a Slovenian MEP sound interesting?
I'm more than happy to own Brexit (good and bad). The UK had got stale and lazy and was going nowhere fast. We were too eager to let the EU do all the work and the House of Commons was adding zero value. Now Parliament is forced to govern and if they don't do it it don't get done, cannot blame the EU anymore.
