So the Conservative government negotiated the Northern Ireland Protocol, signed and passed it through parliament and won an 80 seat majority on it being part of an “oven ready deal”.
Now it won’t even use Article 16, within the NIP, to suspend or alter it. It has instead decided to break international law and its word, while lying about the reasons and consequences of this act.
All while claiming the move is essential to help Northern Ireland. Where the protocol is popular with most parties and businesses. They do this by lying about the economy and politics and what they knew would happen when they signed the deal (they even published an appraisal predicting exactly what was going to happen.)
And after all this, the party of law and order, a party jam packed with lawyers, a party with experienced old hands and ministers who know the truth behind all this; voted for the Bill.
Even MPs who had shredded the Foreign Secretary’s loathsome arguments did not vote against it, they abstained.
In a sense we should be grateful, the idea that there are some good Tories, with common sense and decency, ready to emerge when the clown is gone; is now dead.
Not one of them has the courage or honesty or patriotism to vote against their own party, when it has been taken over by UKIP and by law breaking populists, willing to stir up any hornets nest available to keep itself in power for a few more days.

Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
