I see that both the Washington Post and the LA Times have been prevented from endorsing Kamala Harris for the presidency because their billionaire owners have vetoed the moves.
They have been silenced by the ultra wealthy because they either want even lower taxes and the ability to drive down wages or because they support a fascist state or both. Or perhaps they are willing like the German industrialists of the 1930’s to put up with a dictatorship so long as it is a dictatorship that lets them make lots of money and destroys the unions.
Whichever is the case they are beyond the pale.
Some things are not polite disagreements, we do not have to listen calmly to other points of view, not when they are an attempts to seize power, destroy democracy, stir up racial violence and destroy the state, often for profit.
No matter how polite, posh, wealthy, presentable and well dressed they are these people are trying to destroy everything we believe in.
The business leaders of Germany in the 1930s found that out 10 years later. Their factories were dust, millions dead and their country was exposed as the most vile genocidal regime in world history.
But we have to listen politely to Hitler’s heirs, and respect their point of view, maybe over a cup of tea?
I think history has something to teach us in this regard and we all know what that is.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
