Leadership..
A party that is funded with Russian money and whose leader has many Russian oligarchs as friends, is now struggling to respond to Russian aggression in Europe.
Its first sanctions were a joke, a sick and very weak joke.
It is hardly leading by example, which is a shame as that is about the only leadership in Europe available to the UK government. And it has to be Europe now not the EU.
The Foreign Secretary has obviously decided never to say the letters EU, she only speaks of Europe.
This government is really that petty, inadequate and pathetic. All those lies, the threats to break international law, the attacks on the EU, the burning of bridges, the hopes of destroying the EU altogether, have ended with this.
The EU could do with the UK to reinforce the countries which want real and effective sanctions but that can’t happen.
There is nothing the UK can do to lead now. When even members of the ruling party support Hungary’s and Poland’s increasing authoritarianism because it is eurosceptic, it is far too late..
That is why the Russians supported Brexit and it worked.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
