Yesterday for a brief moment it looked like a youth mobility scheme would be agreed between the EU and the new Labour government, only for it to be denied by No.10.
They may have been put off by the media and opposition reaction, which is that this would mean rejoining the EU by the back door, cost British people jobs, and betray Brexit. All the usual lies from the usual suspects.
But frankly the government is just going to have to ignore that kind of stuff and put the country first, it has a huge majority it can surely make a few brave decisions?
Let’s face it the tory party is committing suicide in public, accusing the government of being “commies”, claiming that the Rwanda scheme needs restarting and even expanding, that the unions have taken over and that we are returning to the 1970’s (1970’s economic growth rates would actually be quite nice, but I am sure that is not what they mean). Then they are falling over themselves to see who can leave the ECHR quickest and claiming that everything wrong with the state is not their fault and has been caused by 7 weeks of Labour government. Then they support tattooed, racist, thugs who are attempting mass murder, question the independence of the judicial system, and tell us that the Nazis have “real concerns”and represent a wider problem.
Why don’t the Tories just hand out molotov cocktails and be done with it?
This is the party of law and order? No, it is the party of Brexit. It won that referendum by opening pandora’s box and playing the race card and now it cannot and doesn’t want to put it back.
If any of the candidates for leadership or even ex MPs who are still popping up on TV for some strange reason, think that this is the way to win a majority in this country they are going to be sorely disappointed. Yet there is no elder statesman or woman to knock their heads together and tell them to shut up until they have something useful to say.
And this is the party that Labour are scared of? The government has to learn that it has a huge majority and these creeps are not going to change, they even still support Trump for the presidency.
They are going to scream blue murder over Brexit whatever Labour does, the government may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb and make some real progress.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

I couldn't agree more. As I have already posted in a Facebook group, this is the time to do it. The Tories are in disarray, Labour has a whopping majority and the next election is a long way off. Get on with it - no more 'softly, softly...'
Is Labour afraid of negative reaction in the “red wall” seats? Large majority but not a large uplift in % of popular vote. But sod all that, you’re right they should crack on
