Kite flying
There is no point listening to the Chancellor in the run up to the budget, he is never going to tell you anything. If he really gave things away people would dodge the tax changes, or prices would move.
Forget all that rubbish about the sanctity of budget secrets meaning the Chancellor would be fired for releasing things in advance, the Chancellor teases and cons us all by appearing on every channel he can because he wants to be in the limelight for a bit longer but without giving anything away.
This year that is a particularly cynical move, the Chancellor has no money to spend, he has to raise taxes somewhere to give out elsewhere or he has to promise totally unbelievable cuts to government spending.
That is it really. Everything else is just smoke and mirrors and remember the tax rises he has already announced are huge and last for the next 4/5 years.
He just wants you to forget that.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
