It's only another £12 billion, a year
According to the FT the PM is doubling down on “enterprise zones” or “free ports” as they are often called.
The Treasury are trying to limit the number to 40 because, as we all know, the zones don’t create growth they just encourage firms to move from somewhere they are taxed to somewhere they aren’t taxed.
With 40 of them across the country they wouldn’t even have to move very far, but the PM wants more, many more.
The cost to the Treasury will be £12 billion a year, money that is totally wasted, goes straight to bosses’ wallets and which the government desperately needs to balance its budget.
We have wasted a fortune on this government’s incompetence in a few short weeks, but the total keeps rising.
£12 billion a year just because the PM is a starry eyed loon. This cannot go on for 2 years, even the UK isn’t rich enough for that.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
