It doesn't matter who wins.
The Tory party is trying to spin the local elections by claiming it will be a good day if it only loses 1,000 seats, which is in fact a ridiculously high number.
But this kite flying hides a bigger truth, the vote against the Tories will be limited by the new rule on voter ID. This will depress the anti-Tory vote by as much as 2,000,000, which is a good thing.
Good because it means the opposition parties have two years to run a voter registration campaign. a campaign like the one in Georgia which turned the state against Trump despite the best efforts of the undemocratic Republicans.
The Liberals, Labour and Greens need to unite to achieve this or the deliberate Tory attempt to disenfranchise millions, rig the election and steal victory at the next general election might well keep them in power.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
