I woke up this morning and listened to some woman trying to explain the Tory party’s disastrous performance. I did not catch her name but if she is all they have they are doomed.
I paraphrase.
We may have been in power for 14 years but we were frustrated by the blob, whatever that is.
Also we failed to stop the spread of woke polices, whatever they are.
Our supporters despaired and voted for Reform, a true centre right party which recognises these problems and has plans to deal with them.
This is a level of delusion that it hard to fathom, just like all those false facts about the EU, all that guff about sovereignty, which none of them really understand. Just like the willing blindness to not see the damage they have caused, the run down nature of almost everything, the state of the NHS, defence and all the rest. Then they blame the fact that they were not nasty enough or where sabotaged, in fact they were ideologically driven idiots.
At this rate the rump of the Tory party will either try to be worse than Reform (Drown just one baby, you traitors?) or they will merge with them.
The first step will be a leadership election campaign in which the winner will be the one who can whip up the bigots best.
The Tory party is heading in the wrong direction and doesn’t even know it. This was a humiliating defeat that they fully deserved, but now they are accelerating towards the cliff edge.
Any decent Tory left will have to cross the floor if the party doesn’t change soon, and it shows every sign of not changing course at all.
This is what the 40 year Brexit civil war has created, a party run by bigots and idiots who promised the country the earth but could never deliver because they were lying through their teeth but still think they must have been betrayed.
It was not the blob or the woke who frustrated the Tory government, it was their own impossible fantasies which could never be delivered. Fantasies they still cling to.
There is no return to government unless they change direction, none.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

They won’t merge. Reform will supplant them in about 6 years which will be after the next election
A nice, non-stop slide into oblivion. Totally deserved. Maybe the next election will see the Lib Dems as the opposition. What larks, Pip!
