How low?
It takes a special kind of panic to vote to allow the deportation of Afghans who fought shoulder to shoulder with our troops in a bid to save their country from a bunch of misogynist, extremist, religious zealots.
But the Tory party managed it with ease, no problem, just show me where to vote and I’ll be there. Break international and domestic law, no problem if it might just save my seat.
Meanwhile the EU is giving Egypt £6 billion in order to try to maintain economic stability and stop the problem at source.
When you see that all the schools in Sudan are closing because it is just too hot, it is obvious that without serious help for such countries this issue is going to run and run.
Already the Tory government’s attempt to deal with asylum seekers has collapsed because it has failed to process them quickly enough, all the rest including Rwanda is an attempt to exploit that failure in its own selfish interests.
But targeting Afghan veterans, in order to win the votes of the bigots, racists and Nazis? How low can you get?
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
