The Chancellor is, we hear, on his hols in California, warming his toes in the Pacific no doubt.
When he returns he will have to defend his policies against the rising fury that he has the money but is refusing to help.
I wonder how many friends he has around the Cabinet table these days?
Because if he continues on this course he is going to need them.
