So let me try to get this right. The PM warns us all about the threat of extremism and mob rule. Fires his Home Secretary for whipping up a right wing mob over remembrance weekend and then his deputy chairman for whipping up hatred of Muslims and then his predecessor praises Trump, accuses a “deep state” of running the country and fails to condemn praise for a Tommy Robinson, who was called a hero while she stood there with a vacant look on her face.
Then Truss and Lee Anderson are both invited to a Tory party event and cheered to the rafters.
John Major betrayed all of our futures when he didn’t kick out the closet racists and swivel eyed loon sin the 1990’s, now the leader of the Conservative party can’t. His party is owned by the members and they are the extremists, the racists and the conspiracy theorists. He works for them and can do nothing about it.
A real leader would have thrown Braverman, Truss and Anderson under a bus, Sunak is giving them the keys to Tory Central Office.
After the election, when hopefully they are in opposition, the Tory party will tear itself apart. The old centre right members will be evicted by the far right who are in the safest seats and have the support of the members, the old one nation Tories have been dead men walking since Brexit.
Whether the party can then use the economic woes Labour will inherit, or the race card and still present themselves as the same old Tory party is a moot point.
But the old Tory party finally died over the last weekend, appeasement got it in the end.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.

This is what you get with a PM who has the fatal flaws of hubris combined with being crap at politics. The giants of Conservatism must be spinning in their graves.
Brings to mind the saying that democracy is a vehicle without an engine.
You can’t run it on smug non-entities - unserious people in serious times.
