Cynical me
Well, even I underestimated the Chancellor’s determination to help the rich, you might think Liz Truss would be a warning but totally removing the pensions saving limit gives the rich huge tax cuts for very little benefit.
It is a very strange way of keeping Doctors working, to give everyone who already has huge tax benefits, unlimited tax benefits.
Meanwhile the huge hikes in basic income tax continue, as does the unprecedented fall in living standards. While the freezing of fuel duty, once again, is now becoming economically distorting.
Car makers warn people are far less likely to go electric if fuel is kept cheap.
A classic example of a policy which the government knows doesn’t work, is the complete opposite of what is necessary, but which their voters love.
And I thought I was cynical.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
