Yesterday I pointed out that Brexit is permanent and means permanent talks with the EU. But the Government already seems to be trying to ruin those talks before they begin. It seems it believes the EU is being very unfair to the UK and in retaliation the Government is considering cutting French fishing boats nets or making them eat marmite or some such.
The very people who claimed; Brexit would be the easiest deal in history, that they held all the cards, had Brussels over a barrel and that the EU needed the UK more than the UK needed the EU; seem to be the ones complaining the most.
Now apparently Brussels is a bully that forced a bad deal on the UK and failed to highlight the downsides of Brexit. It is also unfairly enforcing the rules and regulations and making UK exporters jump through more hoops than even New Zealand or Australia.
I strongly suspect that the EC knew far better than the British government what the new rules meant for dozens of British industries, they must have been amazed at how little the UK asked for or wanted.
But this is the very same deal the UK was boasting about just over a month ago. Asking for changes so quickly shows how incompetent the UK was and it is embarrassing, to say the least; threatening the people you now realise you need help from is plain stupid.

So you think the government is trying to ruin those talks before they begin? This feels like a divorce matter where each party has an diametrically opposed opinion
When a new house is built then there are inevitably initial "snagging issues." that need ironing out.
You suspect the EU knew a lot of funny things. I suspect you are coming at the matter from a different perspective to me, so what!
So we are incompetent but the EU so far are struggling to get the agreement signed off by its own rubber stamping parliament which is kind of ironic.
During a break-up a jilted partner can take a rigid or pragmatic line it would appear the EU took the rigid line. Well both sides can do that so they can go whistle for any money for Eurostar or any UK fishing licences. A negotiation is a 2 way street not all we give they take.
