After an angry Sunday blog I noticed some more details on this stupendously stupid idea of pulling out of EU/UK research schemes.
Apparently the UK is willing to do this even though its own experts warn that “programme benefits cannot be fully replicated in domestic alternatives” and withdrawing would “impact the ambition to become a science superpower”.
A better explanation and example of cutting off your nose to spite your face it would be difficult to find.
The Brexit ultras are, of course, urging it on.
They are also keen as mustard for Article 16, a trade war and WTO terms.
