All political careers end in failure...
What do the Windsor Framework and the Daily Telegraph’s expose of the Johnson Administration’s handling of Covid have in common?
They both expose what Boris Johnson was really like when in power. Careless would be a gross understatement. The PM was not prime ministerial, in fact the evidence seems to be that he couldn’t care less about whether his whelk stall was a success.
This matters, the Brexit loons who want him back because he is a true believer are getting smaller in number, the ones who think he can win them the next election are diminishing fast. Every detail of the Windsor deal and every inane, stupid, innumerate, callous message that is revealed undermines his support and his chances of a come back.
Is it too much to hope that he is doomed to wander the political back waters for life? Rich, vain, self centred to a frightening degree, demanding respect which no one believes in, unaware of what he has lost and in denial about what damage he did, increasingly irrelevant, supported by a few dodgy characters and reflecting in non existent past glories, as he sells himself on the lecture circuit and as a useful idiot to doomed causes.
Perhaps a place in the House of Lords beckons? Lord Windsor would be too cruel a title for even him, surely.
Economics, trade and Brexit, not necessarily in that order but the dog always comes first.
